Quite possibly, however I'm not going to pre-order something with a 3 month lead time, technology changes too fast for that.
However at the moment it does look very likely I'll be picking one up next time I'm in Hong Kong or Singapore!

Nope. Get rid of Windows 8, then we'll think about it.
If I was in the market for a tablet will definitely get one.
Win 8 works well on tablets, and just needs a 'little' learning curve to get used to it.
Overall looks like a good product.
And I don't work for Microsoft.

Lol no
Having worked with a couple of Surface 2s without keyboards, plus a Samsung Ativ Tab with dock, I'd probably skip the Surface. It's beautifully made, powerful and and the OS works brilliantly with a touch screen IMO, but it's overpriced compared to rivals. Not really a criticism of the product. If I could get one open-box or grade-B for work, I would.
Not a chance!
Not happy about price gouging for storage upgrades especially if it's just a bog standard mSATA SSD inside. I can stomach a premium to some degree but they seem to want to charge SSD prices from 3 or more years ago and that's a deal breaker. It will be interesting to see a tear-down and just how unnecessarily hard it is to upgrade the SSD and change the battery.
The pen is mightier than the finger and I'm OK with windows 8.1 so that much is good.
Agreed. This is better compared to laptops with touch screens, e.g. the Lenovo Yoga. The 'Pro' version of the surface tablets use the full Windows 8 like you'd get on a standard laptop or desktop, not the mobile version seen on Window phones and some other tablets.
Personally, I'm served just fine by my desktop PC and my smart phone, but if I was looking for a tablet/laptop kind of device, this would be my choice.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
Not at this time, these are systems spec's that cost half the price. If it where say £499 for the base, or had a NVidia GTX 850m/860m gpu at that price point than the surface pro 3 would be something useful to us gamers/media-fanatics. At the moment, this is only good for graphic/CAD/CAM people that can't afford to get Wacoms tablets.
Hey it wasn't me doing the comparing
I was just curious what Mblaster thought the extra £300 got you, other than 450Mb less storage space and a slight increase in resolution.

If I needed a smaller, more covenient computer compared to my 15 inch i5 Windows 7 laptop, then I would certainly would go for this, when it finally comes out that is. It's just a question what colour keyboard lol.. maybe cyan, navy blue?
Based on the reviews that the keyboard/keypad is not very good for using as a replacement for a proper laptop keyboard then 'NO'
Rather expensive for a glorified tablet that can't be a laptop as well.
Rather spend £300 on laptop and £300 on tablet. Best of both worlds because I brought both worlds.
