I'd love to see the comparison of a DDR3 740 to an A10-7850K...Nvidia goes on to say that the GT 740 should provide users with "4X faster gaming performance than integrated graphics while delivering rock-solid reliability and stability with GeForce Experience". That 4X figure must vary hugely depending on the integrated graphics being compared.
Can't believe they haven't gone with "up to 4x faster", which is at least defendable if you compare it to, say, an Athlon 5350. Based on previous benchmarks these will be pretty much directly performance comparable with the R7 240 and 250, which means they can't afford to be priced any higher than £69 or they end up going up against the much faster R7 250X. Given the choice between a GT740 @ £70 or an R7 240 @ £45, I know where my money's going...
