    Hmmm. XB360.

Why? Decent quality gaming, decent price ... having waited until it was mature on the market.

Oh, and (for me, at least) longevity. Had it years, never any trouble.

I think most responses would be subjective. Consoles, and games, release at certain times in peoples lives and so those games or consoles get attached to the memories and feelings people have of "the good old days". Someone born in the 80's may find an SNES or Genesis their favourite while someone born later may find the N64 or PS1 their favourite, not necessarily because of the games but because of the memories they had playing it.

That aside, SNES I played the most on in my teen years, playing Mario Kart every day after school with my best friend. Later on I eventually got an N64 and played Goldeneye.

My new favourite console though is my Wii U. Many features and options for play using the game pad has so many potential uses.

Dreamcast was the first time a console made me really take notice enough to want to part with money. Fired it up a few weeks ago, played some Metropolis Street Racer on it. Graphics look a bit dated now, but it is still pretty awesome.

Had a few consoles since, but they have been more of a means to an end. Gamecube to play Zelda, Wii to play Mario Kart, PS3 slim to play blu-rays.

Mario Kart U turned up in the post today but not tried it yet, so my allegiance may change

It's hard to choose between my old Amiga CD32 (with SX1 expansion and Fujitsu buckling spring mechanical keyboard) or Sega Dreamcast with the lightgun games.

Playstation 2 for me. The best games ever have been released for it and psone games also worked on it (few gems there too)! It also had a dvd-drive that was new thing then, at least here in Europe it was quite new tech

Re: Features - QOTW: Which is your favourite games console of all time?

PS3, PS4, and XboxOne are the only consoles I haven't had, going all the way back to Atari cartridge lumps of mock wooden basics.

It's hard to pick a favorite as they've all shown moments of obsessive genius from time to time usually down to key game titles.

If I had to pick due to most time spent locked away from reality it would have to be either the N64 with Z64 (Iomega zip discs - remember them?) and eventually CD64, or the chipped PS2 with HDD stuck in the back via network adapter.

The only console i ever played on was the original Play Station that i borrowed for a few months from a good friend so i could play Gran Turismo.
I have fond memories of the GT40 in that game and how it felt like a cross between floating and super-G'ing down the track.

For me the Original Playstation or the Gameboy Advance spent many hour's on them when I should been doing other things.

Re: Features - QOTW: Which is your favourite games console of all time?

For me it has to be the Megadrive, so many great games on there, also love the SNES but with owning the Megadrive first back in the day (still own it now) it always comes first.

Home computers though its the C64 and then the Amstrad CPC464

Re: Features - QOTW: Which is your favourite games console of all time?

Probably the original Gameboy, although my Snes & Megadrive would be a close joint second place. The worst consoles would be an Atari 2600 which died after a week and a Sinclair (not technically a console, I know)ZX81 which lasted one day.

For me its the SNES, at the time the games on SNES were better imo than the MegaDrive. The games on consoles back then tbh were better value for money compared to modern games, the average game nowadays can be completed in 6-10hrs, in the early 90's a game would take alot longer to complete.

Got to say N64, some great, fun games and for me the best controller ever! Just picked up a N64 again cause was missing it that much!
