Why?...do the letters look better when typed on the screen or something?
$200 for a keyboard...the worlds gone mad I tell you, mad..........

So the K70 RGB is the same as the current K70 but you can change the LED colours. Hope the pricing stays at £105 that the K70 can be had for at the moment.
The M65 RGB seems to be exactly the same as the current M65

No, but they feel different when you type on them, so getting the right switch colour can affect typing accuracy, speed and comfort. Not sure I would get the benefit of illuminated keys as I don't tend to look at my keyboard, but a mechanical keyboard is worth the premium if you use it a lot. Even $200 is only tenpence a day over five years, and a good keyboard will last much longer than that.

I could see illuminated keys being useful if you can't be bothered to turn on the light and your screen isn't bright enough to make do

I can type blindfolded, so illuminated keys are worse than a non-feature to me, they're an annoying distraction. So yeah, my incoming K65 is plenty good 'nuff for me.

In some bonus fuelled month of plenty, I grabbed a non-RGB K70. Yes it's expensive, but it's so eye-wateringly perfect in every-way, I don't begrudge a penny of it.
Main selling point to me was the complete lack of blingy ****e - but I guess you still get the design, with the optional bling on this.

I was looking at getting the K70 next month to go with my M65 and MM600, 650D case, Corsair Memory and Corsair Headphones - Wish they didn't make so much damn good stuff. :)
May hang fire and see what the K70RGB retails at in the UK.
Re: News - Corsair launches Cherry MX K70 and K95 RGB Gaming Keyboards
I just got myself the Corsair K70 from Scan for £97 and love it. I find the mechanical keys more intuitive to use because the actuation point is halfway down the key press so there is that fraction less lag between feeling the key and the press being registered. The build quality is fantastic and if you find the keys are too noisy because you prefer to bottom them out then simple 5-8mm (inner-outer diameter) O-rings will reduce the noise quite a lot for less than £4.
Their keyboard designs appeal to me because they are simple and functional while offering essential features that I use often like media keys with sound adjustment.
My first non-microsoft keyboard was a Saitek Eclipse II that I still have working after a few cleans. I then moved onto a gaming series keyboard from Logitech and also got one of Logitech's gamepads which was great. I thought I wouldn't get a different branded peripheral after using Logitech but I was persuaded by Corsair for this keyboard and my next mouse may be from Corsair as well.

I've read over on Geekhack.org that more or less translucent key caps are more prone to wear and solid ones. Still, the K70 in both regular and RGB backlight revision looks very nice. If Corsair would offer (reasonably priced) key cap replacements that would put my mind more at ease.
