    I've got great hopes for dockport as an enabler of better multimode devices. Assuming the spec allows for the use of miniDP as well as full size, there's now nothing to stop device manufacturers using a single-port docking solution to enable one device to operate as a phone, tablet, laptop and desktop. I'm kind of sad that I'm not a device manufacturer: so many possibilities...

    How much power can this provide? Would it be enough to power a monitor? Would be nice to do away with one more power brick...

    I am pretty sure it will be usb3.1 spec which is now 100w power output so I can't see why you couldn't power a monitor with it! Love this idea and glad we have an open alternative to thunder bolt.
