    Hopefully this will mean the price of DDR3 RAM will also get slashed substantially after memory manufacturers produce too much in anticipation of demand that never materializes.

    Only if you upgrade to Haswell-E / X99. The rest of us will have to wait until the second half of 2015 before buying any DDR4.
