Why is it that people that play games are more than happy to hand over there hard earned, Well, For nothing. It happens all the time, Good money paid over in pre orders, And it's not as if there is any great savings to be made, Over on Steam you can pre purchase "Stronghold Crusader" for the grand saving of 10%, 3 quid, Or a 10% saving on Dead Rising 3, 4 quid, Why do people bother.

I almost did the same! and on top of that, I wouldn't be at all surprised if these games are still broken at launch.

Didn't EA's company value drop because of Bf4 and upset some shareholders? I can't help but think they're doing these things just to stop that happening again, while masquerading as people who actually care a significant amount about the consumer feedback they get.

Unless they suddenly announce the complete removal of EA Orign as a requirement, I'm not touching any of their products. Sure it's a shame to miss Dragon Age and Sim City but it's not worth the hassle.

Not to mention EA titles are usually overpriced for far longer than most.

It's fun to throw barbs at EA for the delays, but need we be reminded of the launch flops that were Simcity and Titanfall, amongst others? I couldn't possibly care any less about the BF offering, but so long as they do Dragon Age properly (unlike DA2), then I, at least, will be content.

Origin is the LAST thing you should be taking a stance over. At least it works and does it's job. More than can be said for some of the more recent EA games.

I know everyone likes steam but as I keep saying to the "no to anything but steam crowd", you are only going to have a small subset of titles available if you stick to that philosophy. There is a reason steam are going indy heavy.

Re: News - EA delays major titles Battlefield: Hardline, Dragon Age: Inquisition

Delays are very good to see from EA in my opinion, they will do well to learn from the disaster of rushing to launch Battlefield 4 in it's unfinished state in order to hit the sales window before Call of Duty: Ghosts launched.

If they are now willing to push back games and increase the quality of the game's version when it launches then I'm all for it.

A delayed game can be great when it finally comes if the right attention is paid and it's done for the right reasons.

Yeh I agree. And hopefully they won't turn BF into a yearly release thing like COD. 2 years inbetween BF titles is too little as it is in imo. I don't even know how you could possibly develop such a game in 2 years anyway. Oh wait, you can't. Unless you just rehash what you already made on the exact same engine (BF: Hardline), or just rush out an unfinished game (BF4).

I wont spend another penny with EA, they have done nothing about the hackers and you cant get on any server now with BF4 without Hacks, I played the Beta of Hardline and on all the TeamSpeak servers and in all the text all you heard was people comparing how good their hacks were. EA and DICE is dead until they finally get to grips with the Hacking and stop burying their heads in the sand, I certainly will never spend another penny with them, rather use the money to go out to dinner as for 80 bucks for BF4 with different rules and different skins and call it hardline yeah Jog On EA some of us are not that dumb and stupid

As bad as EA can be, they do publish some cracking games! We all bloody know it! They could definitely do with sorting a few things out though - stop pressuring devs to release before they're ready, stop with all the ridiculous ways of doing dlc etc.. But they know they have some great games in their possession. And that's why they continue to get sales. But I admire anyone who wants to play these games, yet doesn't give EA any money for the crap they pull. Our wallets are the only way to change the way big business's operate! Good on ya

Glad to see them taking their time for once rather than just picking a date and sticking to it come hell or high water. Think the backlash over BF4 has taught them. Noticed the Hardline Beta seemed to be an actual Beta this time. Rather than just a demo, with no time to change anything before release. Hope they've learnt their lesson and don't slip back into old habits.

No, please don't. The games industry has very long hours and a very stressful environment.

In most cases it's not the guys making the game which set the deadlines - it's done internally by the company. Even when they are massively short on what's needed they still have to try and work to them. This is the main reason why games ship bugged / late / both.

(For the clearance of doubt, I'm not interested in either game)
its not that simple. For a complex project like making a game, you may face bug at the end of the day.
