Pointless to have a resolution so high on such a tiny screen, not to mention that you can't really play games at that res with that card.

Nice, depending on battery life I'll pick one up.

I was mean about the 17" auros but I can't possibly be mean about this one. Every competing device I can think of is either heavier, or thicker, or has a lower res screen, or a weaker GPU, or a weaker battery (74Wh in this apparently). Most of them are some combination of those factors. Unless something goes wrong with input device quality or build quality that is an amazing laptop and I really want to see a teardown to see how they crammed everything in.

Considering the GPU is around GTX660TI level(maybe a bit slower),thats a quite a bit of gaming oomph in such a small laptop. The screen resolution is a tad OTT though,so I hope scaling is good. At 2560x1440 the card will probably start to struggle but at 1920X1080 or 1600X900 a lot of modern games should run fine.

Nice specs for the laptop, but with a screen as small as 13.3", I just don't see the point, unless you don't mind squinting.

Re: News - AORUS X3 launched, is it the most powerful 13-inch gaming laptop?

The beauty of the 3200x1800 screen is it can easily play games at a very respectable 1600x900 resolution with no aliasing as the scaling will be perfect. While having a super-sharp screen the rest of the time (hello scaling and Windows 8)
Looks like a weird half height enter key though?
Not priced too badly either from the looks of things given the spec, I'd probably pay the extra $250 for the higher res screen too for the aforementioned reason..

This. And it would presumably make photoediting/CAD etc a nicer experience having the greater pixel density?

Think that's just US keyboard - my laptop is the same. Gaming at 900p looks as good as 1080 to me if I'm honest, and as you say, scaling will be perfect

so it's got an IGZO screen. But is it IPS or TN? The viewing angles suggest IPS. If so I might end up splurging on this, it seems to tick so many of my wish list boxes.

See the IGZO and wide viewing angle tabs on http://www.aorus.com/x3.aspx

Just heard from Aorus. It will have an MVA screen. I've asked for more details, but it's a lot better than a TN would be so no disaster.

I pass on this as a 13-14 inch is just to dam small for gaming no matter how fast

depends on your eyesight my friend. If it can display the pixels a 1080p screen is a 1080p screen. You just need myopia to benefit on a small screen!
