It's very tempting, especially the mATX. I wonder if the M.2 slots are x4 PCIe or the more usual x2?

With the way Mantle & DirectX 12 are reducing the need for fast single threading and 64-bit's finally becoming mainstream for games I think I'll stick with my old 4GHz Socket-1366 Hex Core.

Given that X99 will have oodles of PCIe lanes, almost certainly x4.

Even though I have absolutely no need or inclination to upgrade my 2500, my lawdy-lawd do I want an X99 chipset with that ATX mobo...dual M.2 drives for booting, 10 hard drives direct into the mobo running ZFS, and triple GTX 780Ti's *minigasm*

I'm going to give it a year for everyone to iron out issues across the whole spectrum.
I can already see version 1.1+ mobos with this amount of change. And intel don't always get it right at launches.

I'm looking forward to seeing a successor to the Rampage IV Extreme.

Surprised we don't know a lot more already if they're supposed to be released next week. DDR4 showing up for preorder is a good sign though
