Glad to see TressFX is 'open', or at least not unnecessarily tied down to one brand.

The APU is a really interesting move, but there's a few things I'd now like to know.
First, the PS4 gets to use a load of GDDR5 memory; GGDR5 memory has higher latency than desktop, and I wonder if they're planning to use it in some way, possibly at the expense of CPU performance in some apps, or use DDR3 on such a massive IGP? The standard APUs will likely use 1 DDR3 channel. Maybe it's just marketing speak referring to what they were going to release anyway i.e. Kabini?

I really appreciate the fact that AMD makes their technologies run on NVidia's GPUs as well. I hope NV takes the cue and they start to work together to make it better for us "the consumers" and not see us as "the wallets"

The tech also looks very impressive, can't wait to see it in game.

As for the PS4 chip.. that's very interesting, we'll see how it performs

who'da thunk it, that sexy hair would be the big spectacle in GFX for a new gen of consoles? Although PC users get the shiny for about 9 months before the speculated release day ...Yay! Now just need to get a new GPU :\

Playing 'Alice: Madness Returns', the PhysX engine in that makes her hair all lovely and realistic already.

Oh my - 'in-game hair' is what I've been searching for all these years! The 3 R's - "Render. Rinse. Repeat" in the banner and the final sentence - LMAO.

Interestingly, the best hair i've seen in a game previously is with an NVIDIA PhysX library

Just because it will work on Nvidia, doesnt mean it will be any good!

Im gunna bet that performance on the green team cards will be dreadful!

Good on AMD for making an open format version of something nvidia tried to lock to there hardware.

Just based on business ethics AMD gets my money.

This will definitely be a win with RPGs. Wish there were some jRPGs to play on the PC, but then again the PS4 APU may have an equivalent version but do I really want to buy a PS4 when it's out? Not really..

Wow not only are they making Tressfx open to everyone but also a version of the ps4's APU? Awesome business practice. I was pretty neutral before but I think I am now in favor of AMD.

It's NWN's jiggle technology all over again

Using non-propriatory standards is a good thing in my book, but I've been saying that and applauding AMD for that for a while

Just about, but then high spec console hardware isn't usually a great deal different from PC hardware, it's mainly the software stack/access to the hardware for programs.
