This would be good if it wasn't likely to be stupidly expensive. We need more <27' 1440p screens.
Given this ....... I'd say you're pretty much guaranteed to be right. This 'Professional Monitor' is aimed at professionals in CAD/CAM, animation, video editing and graphic arts. CAD/CAM users might be happy to hear this monitor is Solidworks Certified. It also has a built-in CAD/CAM mode which alters the monitor colour and contrast profiles "for clearly distinguished details in complicated object wireframes
Shame, because while the spec appeals to me, a 'pro' price tag does not. These days, I have neither the need nor justification. But, while I won't be holding my breath, I'll keep one eye on the pricing info, just in case.

It is good to see higher resolutions come to reasonable desktop monitor sizes, it's annoying that the most powerful platform has had to deal with lower PPI monitor options. I would like smoother lines and sharper images on my computer as well as my phone...
I'd prefer 2560x1600 though, I think it is better to use in terms of how it fills my field of view and the extra vertical space. Portrait mode fits full page documents on it better as well.
