a Pentium 300MHz or higher, a powered USB port, 128MB of RAM and 150MB of disk space. Hopefully most HEXUS readers can manage that…
What? Are you crazy? Think we are made of money or something!?

That's a picture of a 360 control pad ;)
Re: News - Xbox One controller coming to Windows PCs in November
Having already tried an XBox One controller connected to my PC via USB, I wonder what this offer that the XBox 360 controller (connected wirelessly to my PC) doesn't?

"... and features 40 innovations"
I hope one of these innovations means that it will actually work on my pc straight out of the box...I have one of the current controllers and despite hours of searching and following MS and other solutions I still have a none functioning controller.

That'd be my question too.
Oh, and like sam3 I'm wondering why the article has pictures of the normal XBox360 controller (i.e. the one I have).

What's the problem with the controller? I've got the wired '360-for-PC controller and I literally just plugged it in and let Windows Update find the correct driver. The only problem I've had is that sometimes the controller is failed to be recognised (the X light lights up briefly then goes off, with none of the usual "pairing" flashing that you get), but moving it to a new USB port usually sorts that out. And I use it a lot - because keyboard/mouse just feels "wrong" to me for the first person shooters I like (and yes I know a mouse is more precise - good thing about a PC, I can use both!).
Re: News - Xbox One controller coming to Windows PCs in November
Yeah, I feel most of the people with a PC who want a controller will already have the 360 version. I do and it's perfect for any controller-controlled games I want to play. I don't see how this could improve it?
Re: News - Xbox One controller coming to Windows PCs in November
Why are they not releasing a wireless USB thingy like they did with the 360 pads ? There is no way I will go near one if it's not wireless as that just seems like a downgrade after using the 360 pad cable free for the last 5 years.

The 360 controller and the X1 controller work straight out of the box. Your controller must be faulty or you haven't installed the drivers.

The X1 controller is much better IMO.

To be honest I have no idea what the problem is...there appears to be many solutions ( including all the USB ports ) all of which I have tried with no joy. When I plug it in, the PC will happily toddle off and get the required drivers but after that the PC stubbornly refuses to recognize the device. It's not a great loss but it means I can't play a game I bought in the steam sale for £3.49 which I subsequently found out was a really bad port from XBox and won't work with keyboard and mouse.
For the record I prefer KB & M to controller.

Controller works fine on a friends pc, drivers have been installed automatically by Win7 and manually by me so that I can check various solutions so I'm fairly certain it's not that or the controller.

Good thing about the 360pad for PC is that it's got a long USB cable, and I really appreciate not having the faff that I do with battery packs on my real '360 controllers (got PC and XBox). Don't they also say that wired controllers have faster responses than the wireless equivalents?

Strange, I wonder if the driver got corrupted (sorry, that's a pretty obvious thing to say, and I'm willing to bet you've already tried to remove-and-reinstall)

Hmm, last time I tried to play Assassins Creed with a K&M combo I ended up looking like this:

Umm a driver and a USB cable and my XBOne controller already works fine on my PC.

The XBO controller definitely feels nicer, but yes, the original was already excellent. I think I can justify buying one on the basis that I'll gain a slightly nicer 1-player experience and also the ability to play the occasional 2-player game with friends.

Will probs stick to my Halo 4 edition 360 controller. Cant see that the Xbone controller will justify the cost to upgrade.
Could improve my 360 controller by getting a play and charge kit for it. That would really come in handy for when I lose my rechargeable AA's again.
Best
AJ
