Having already tried an XBox One controller connected to my PC via USB, I wonder what this offer that the XBox 360 controller (connected wirelessly to my PC) doesn't?

I hope one of these innovations means that it will actually work on my pc straight out of the box...I have one of the current controllers and despite hours of searching and following MS and other solutions I still have a none functioning controller.

What's the problem with the controller? I've got the wired '360-for-PC controller and I literally just plugged it in and let Windows Update find the correct driver. The only problem I've had is that sometimes the controller is failed to be recognised (the X light lights up briefly then goes off, with none of the usual "pairing" flashing that you get), but moving it to a new USB port usually sorts that out. And I use it a lot - because keyboard/mouse just feels "wrong" to me for the first person shooters I like (and yes I know a mouse is more precise - good thing about a PC, I can use both!).Quote:

Why are they not releasing a wireless USB thingy like they did with the 360 pads ? There is no way I will go near one if it's not wireless as that just seems like a downgrade after using the 360 pad cable free for the last 5 years.

The 360 controller and the X1 controller work straight out of the box. Your controller must be faulty or you haven't installed the drivers.Quote:

Umm a driver and a USB cable and my XBOne controller already works fine on my PC.
The XBO controller definitely feels nicer, but yes, the original was already excellent. I think I can justify buying one on the basis that I'll gain a slightly nicer 1-player experience and also the ability to play the occasional 2-player game with friends.Quote:
