I would prefer it if they went the way of Crossfire and removed the need for them entirely if im honest.
Re: News - Nvidia starts selling its LED-lit GeForce GTX SLI bridges
I think the lighting is a bit over the top, my card already emits quite a strong glow compared to the LEDs of my case fans, and I think in future I'd rather have a more subtle and more plain-looking PC.

A bit of bling that I actually approve of.....almost makes me want to go back to SLi ;)
Re: News - Nvidia starts selling its LED-lit GeForce GTX SLI bridges
I like bling, so I'd have one if they gave it to me.... 'course I'd need to get a second card as well, but that's for me to sort out!

Nice and shiny, awww. Do you actually think of the prize. I could buy an AM1 motherboard with that kind of money. NVidia is blood sucking company, but instead of blood it tryes to suck your brain out...

It's only about £18, by today's exchange rate.
The EVGA one is £16.
Not very much money for a bridge with software-controlled bling...

Use the free one with your graphics card or motherboard then.
Bling costs.

Not shipping to the UK :( Wanted one of these for my gaming rig, still want one.
Re: News - Nvidia starts selling its LED-lit GeForce GTX SLI bridges
That is a lot of money just for a SLI bridge.
Re: News - Nvidia starts selling its LED-lit GeForce GTX SLI bridges
Cool little accessory if you ask me. It\'s nice that these kinds of things are made available, my preference is still AMD\'s way of removing the connector altogether.
Re: News - Nvidia starts selling its LED-lit GeForce GTX SLI bridges
Oh dear, what next? A pretty little ribbon bow tied on top for the girls?
I suspect I\'m in the minority on this, at least on this type of forum, but I don\'t even want a window in my PC cases, and the only LEDs I want in it are purely functional ones, like motherboard boot status, etc. The stupid blue fan glow in my Antec 1200 irritates the hell out of me. Note to self, find wirecutters. Unlike the adage about kids, PCs are best when neither seen nor heard.
Glowing logo\'s? Give me strength.
And in case it\'s unclear, no, I wouldn\'t buy this, at least, not until hell freezes over and politicians stop lying. The first, I\'ll concede, leaves me running a risk, but the second I\'m confident about.

Tempted to post a pic of my rig, just to annoy Saracen, heh heh!!!

If you like the pretty ribbon bows on your PC, why would I be annoyed? :D
Seriously, though, if people want their PC to be festooned in as many LEDs as Blackpool illuminations has bulbs, that 's their choice .... just do long as I don't have to. I never have seen the point. A PC for me is a tool doing a job, and the more unobtrusive, the better. I'm as likely to 'decorate' my PC as I am a power drill or food processor. Not that my 'main' machine, in it's Antec 1200 case is exactly unobtrusive, I guess. :D
For clarity, my 'favourite' case is an old CoolerMaster aluminium case. Why? It's light, and unobtrusive as anything I've got.

It might take off, case manufacturers might follow the fashion trends I set and before ya know it EVERY case looks like your worst Hello Kitty nightmare!!! :D

Did you never draw on your pencil case as a kid, or anything? Stickers on your workbook? Spokey dokeys or football/baseball cards on your Raleigh Chopper?
Most tools, I'd agree with. My socket sets and spanners are pretty plain... But certain things like cars and PCs are such a big part of one's life and just that little bit more than a mere tool. For some, it's the most expensive thing they own, so blinging it up however they see fit is the thing to do.
Rather than hide it away, some do turn it into the centrepiece of their room. For a talented few artisans, it is an actual work of art.
Surely even you can appreciate a few of those insanely awesome custom scratch builds out there? ;)
For those like me, it's something I spend a lot of time around. It's a big black box dumped on my desk. It couldn't be more unobtrusive if it were the Hindenberg!!
Rather than just a boring black box, I want something I look at and see how cool it is. That said, almost all of my pritty pritty lights do have a practical purpose... I've just been a touch more creative with them along the way.
