Management explained this one away by saying that they were deliberately targeting business that would be better long-term prospects, at the expense of missing out on some short term income. Which seems pretty reasonable, given the "long view" that seems to be in place on the HP board.HP's enterprise group and enterprise services saw revenue decline last quarter by four and seven per cent year-over-year, respectively.
Yay - an innovative product line is long overdue. Maybe we'll finally see an HP printer that can deal with printable DVD's. The Sprout name I didn't think that strange - as it's supposed to be for the creative times I'm assuming the idea was that good ideas/products will "sprout" from it.Looking at future products from HP, TIME magazine suggests there are signs of a new innovative HP being shown in the areas of printing, personal computing and data analytics. Particularly, in consumer product terms, this regards the HP Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing technology and the oddly named Sprout all-in-one computer system
Strangely enough its the new portables that seem to be getting my kids approval - them saying that they're "cool looking" which I guess is the ultimate compliment. Wouldn't mind seeing a decently spec'd Kitkat tablet though.
