BF4 for me.Using Mantle and latest drivers.

Annoyingly prob the game I've put the most amount of time into this year has been Destiny but there is no way I could put it up in my best game.
I think my vote would be between Wolfenstein (didn't expect to like it nevermind that much!) or Shadow of Mordor.

The game that has given me the most quality gaming this year has been Shadow of Mordor, I just couldn't put it down, even the collectibles on it were worth getting as they added to the world with their own stories that were spoken instead of just text.
I also plowed many hours into Batman Arkham Origins once again collecting everything that I could, really enjoyed it start to finish more so than City.
Other than that I have played Sir Lancelot and Auf Wiedhersehen Monty loads on my Amstrad CPC464 after getting that around March and I am still trying to get through Interphase on the Atari ST after nearly 20 years, getting there at long last!!
Dragon Age Inquisition. No doubt.

The Forest.
Probably not the best to be fair, but even at the Early Access stage it has a quality of immersion I've not seen in any other game for many years. And I don't even like zombie (sorry, mutant) games.
Alien isolation.
The atmosphere the game puts you in and the tension was awesome. Might not be the all out shooter that everyone would expect from the franchise, but it's well made, looks awesome with brilliant attention to detail.
Scared the teeth out my mouth many times.
Epic
wolfenstein the new order
This is the most suspicious post I've ever seen since I was in Eastern Germany in the 80s and seen a fence with a camera on it (I'm drunk this was the best suspicious post joke I could come up with).
We'll start at the beginning - BF4 came out in 2013 not 2014. But let's ignore that and move onto your frankly suspicious statement of saying it's the best of 2014, and it's attributed to mantle.
For one, how is the game, in any form, the best game of 2014 ? It was a supremely mediocre FPS title, with a half-decent MP component (this is coming from a BF fan, I loved BF3, BF4 however was meh), and how did Mantle make it your #1 title ? Of the half dozen or so professional Mantle breakdowns I've read, all attributed a roughly 10-12% gain in performance in ideal circumstances
You whiff of a corporate account, because nobody can be this ignorant.
All that aside...2014 has been a pretty ****ty year for PC games. Mordor was great, but massively flawed in pacing. Far Cry 4 was a good upgrade to Far Cry 3 but didn't push anything. The less said about Ass. Creed the better...I reckon Wolfenstein is the only contender

Think I played The Last Of Us on ps3 this year, that is by far one of the best games I've played in recent years. I did play Shadow of Mordor too, and BioShock Infinite. Currently playing Borderlands 2 for the first time, enjoying that too. But yeah, The Last Of Us...
What's the best PC game is the question and people are talking about console games!
Mine has to be WATCH DOGS.
On the PC with the E3 Graphics MOD, it looked mesmerizing.
Steam from vents, reflection in windows, water on the pavement, realistic rain and puddles, changing weather, the concentric-circles you see when you look at the sun ... makes this a highly recommended game.
spintires, it's been the only game i've played this year that has tried something new and managed to pull it off well. i find the game very frustrating and haven't probably played more than 10 hours but still, at least it's not a rehash like the majority of AAA are
