    Err... how exactly is the LaCie going to give you transfer rates of 5Gb/sec? I thought it was a mechanical HDD?

    I have to admit that if I was spending £220 ($280 + VAT) on a portable drive I wouldn't consider spinning disks, no matter how fancy the packaging. Unless perhaps it was a glass-cased drive that I could watch at work, then my wife might have to hide my credit card

    Yeah, in that pricerange I really don't see why you wouldn't pick up an SSD. Youcould pick up a 500GB MX100 and a USB3 external housing for under £200 including shipping
