A beast of a desktop Cpu from Amd, with any luck
CustardInc (02-01-2015)
The consumer version of Oculus Rift. I'm going to buy it right when it's released.
As the first posts say, AMD with competitive products and a consumer Oculas Rift.. oh and the motorolla phoneblocks thing.
I think the biggest excite for me is a greater adoption of FreeSync. I think that'll do more for better gaming experiences than anything else.
Consumer M.2 SSDs with NVMe, & FreeSync. Hopefully the latter with bring down the cost of G-Sync monitors, or persuade NVidia to support FreeSync!
Gotta be the consumer Rift.
High DPI monitors with Adaptive Sync are definitely sounding like a technology worth having.
Personally I'd hoping we get some excitement drummed up around Haptics this year. I find 3D force simulation a far more interesting prospect than the latest 90s tech revival (VR goggles, woo!) but sadly one that'll take widespread commitment from game developers.
Also, not strictly a technology but I'm hoping for wider adoption of less intrusive game DRM this year that doesn't require the installation of storefronts and other adware.
Outside of computing, I suspect this'll be the year of the Plug-in Hybrid car.
IPS w/4K w/FreeSync or GSync w/Displayport 1.3 w/higher than 60Hz refresh rate
4k monintor,390x, high MPX DSLR
4K, definitely.
64 bit ARM devices, and a not full of bugs Android 5.1 to make use of them.
Edit to add: If this is the beast of a CPU from AMD, then that would be nice too
AMD bringing out a decent cpu that can compete with Intel and realising that throwing more cores at it doesn't make it faster. And glorious battery technology that allows my phone to last more than a day without being charged.
There has been frak all new over the last 3-4 years, just evolution. I'd assume more of the same in 2015.
If anything the most interesting 'tech' of the last few years is it's continued march into commodity.
i look forward for the GTX 960. perfect for mu budget build coz i don't have a lot of money. hopefully it will give more bang for buck than the 970
FreeSync and Mantle.
