I can't fathom how anyone (outside certain workplaces) could ever want 4K resolution on such a small monitor.

Some people don't like TV sized monitors for their computers, others might not have the desk space to accommodate multiple monitors with the primary display bigger than 27". The increased pixel density of 4K in a 27" monitor is something that could attract people who favour image quality over image size.

I don't understand what the attraction is for larger monitors. Picture quality is worse with lower pixel density and there is less space for multiple monitors which I prefer over one large monitor.

My next monitor will be something like this, 4K at 27" or below with an IPS panel.

Each to their own I guess, I wouldn't want anything bigger than 27" for my computer's primary display.

The physical size aspect is certainly a fair point.

At 4K that's much less of a concern though; a 32" UHD (3840 x 2160) display has the same pixel density as a 16" 1080p one.

Physical space is enough of a constraint that I can't have a whopping triple monitor setup -- nor can I justify the expense, when it comes to these sorts of displays -- but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for 30-32" curved UHD displays to use as my main PC monitor. I'll probably sub my current monitor into use as an auxiliary screen, although it's a TN panel (ASUS VG278HE) so getting the viewing angle right might be a bit tricky.

Current feature wishlist: 4K/UHD, 30-32", curved, >=120Hz refresh rate (with interface to suit), G-Sync/FreeSync (if we see FreeSync on NVIDIA GPUs), IPS panel... or OLED, pending a miracle of some description.

A flexible display that folds itself from flat <--> curved would be cool too, for no practical reason other than to sit there and watch it do that (over and over, and over...)
