i find this laptop is a bit too much for a very specific market. you can get the same performance or better for 500-700 less in 15.6" laptops that still are really thin

I still think they should of stuck a very nice 1080p screen in there instead of that crazy high rez one that no game will be able to run at

The QHD screen is optional according to the spec sheet

glad to see 1080p IPS as an option, be nice if had display port instad of HDMI BUT the deal breaker is it doesn't have a broadwell cpu which is...strange.

One it has broadwell I'll be sorely tempted....be great if they made a model without the nvidia gpu, larger battery, display port and screeze in a 15" 1080p IPS panel.

I'd probably buy an HP omen instead of this, too expensive

That's why it doesn't have a Broadwell (yet).

I have a 2013 Blade, and I absolutely love it (despite the fairly mediocre screen). I got it using a student discount (20% off), but would have still dropped full price had this not been the case.

Best laptop on the market by a country mile.

The only downside of the new 2014 and 2015 models vs. the 2013 is that they only have one M.2 slot which leaves storage expansion somewhat hampered. The 2013 had an extra mSATA slot that you could pop another drive into.
