I've never understood the idea of these cashback offers. Why don't they just lower the price by the same amount? Would be a LOT simpler for customers.

Because the retailer has already purchased the stock they own. If the retailer reduces it by £15, they lose out. EVGA is offering the discount, not the retailer.

I wondered the same thing. So I guess you answered it. But then, that leaves me wondering, why doesn't the retailer just sell it cheaper and claim the cashback from EVGA on each sale instead of the customer...

Cashback is a trick to benifit from the difference between the interest that maker earns from the user's paid money when buying the good, and the money the maker pay back to the user. I imagine.

I found that the best way to get cashback is to use a firearm. Had loads of luck asking for charges returned at the bank
