I must admit, I find my Qi stuff really handy, I just wish more manufacturers would adopt it.

So do I...although £30 seems expensive it would be great to integrate a QI charger into your own desk for example...

Perhaps, but it says ''with products starting at £30'' the charger could come attached to a bed side table!!

I think it's a pretty clever move, as long as it's reliable, easy to replace in case the charger breaks and doesn't double the price of a product.

Re: IKEA unveils furniture range with Qi wireless charging

I've been saying for at least 5 years that this tech should take off soon.....as each of those years has passed though I have felt more and more that it isn't going to take off

I still have nothing that charges wirelessly........which is shocking considering how much of a gadget man I am. It really goes to show how slow this tech has been getting to the masses.

Re: IKEA unveils furniture range with Qi wireless charging

Galaxy S6 has both wireless standards included. This will make a huge, huge difference I reckon. My note3 is excellent with the charger back added but it does mean no normal cases fit. The missus is after a Qi case but so far they're quite expensive

It's a good idea when integrated into an electrical device such as lamp, or bedside radio, less so when the bedside table takes up another plug socket.

Sad part is with my white desk they might never notice at work if I did that, but my I would be scared to plug something into the mains that wasn't PAT tested

Sad thing is, with the state of my desk at work no-one would ever notice!

I also wouldn't care about PAT tested or not, the only PAT stickers I've seen in my office are from 2008 !!
