Hope there isn't as long as a delay for custom PCBs and coolers from Asus and the like UNLESS AMD vastly improve the stock cooler.
I think he's thinking back to the R9 290X release where it was many weeks before we got custom coolers / PCB and all you could get was the not that great reference cooler.
I think for the top of the range card it has been rumoured to feature an AIO watercooler similar to the one used on the R9 295X2 which is a pretty decent and for most would remove the need for custom cooled cards.
Heh, as i just figured, they wont go out with the new 300 series to be a rebranded line, but with a full range of products with a different architecture respect to the 200 series.
If they want to hit Nvidia hard they just needed to put fresh air and rebrand the r92XX with another line name.
Will that be enough time for Hynix to come out with more dense HBM? Would love to see a 8GB HBM right off the start, and maybe this delay will allow all the new 300 series to have HBM attached.
AMD need to destroy Nivida as they can dictate the price as no competition. This card 390x needs to destroy gtx 980
You call Nvidia's issue a "Stumble" and a "Mix-up" , I had a chuckle. I would have went with "Lie" and "Fraud" , but, each to their own.
No one is mentioning the TMU, ROP reduction (than advertized) either.
I did see an Memtest run on the card it goes from 408Gbps to 6Gbps in the last .5GB of the VRAM. Personally I would be livid.
Good thing I am an AMD guy, I just chuckled again.
