Kind of 50/50 for me....
In personal use, yeah I could give it up pretty easily although to be honest it's kind of useful to have a mobile when living in the countryside, it's not like there's a bt phonebox anywhere round here and in some cases you can't even see a house lol.
For work use though it would be harder, it's a point of contact for clients (I'm freelance) plus it allows out of office scheduling and email access. It's also handy for navigation when driving.
easily, not a problem, wouldnt even think twi...2 secs someone just posted a pic of a drunk girl dancing on facebook...
Without the alarm clock on my phone, I would not be able to wake up early for work!
at the moment yes very easily as i get very little use out of it
Easily.
I'm not married to my mobile and I don't do social networks. A day without my mobile passes almost unnoticed, so I seriously doubt I'd miss it for a week.
It's just a tool - It's designed to help you.
It isn't supposed to rule you.
Considering my mobile phone is exactly just that - a phone - and the only time it is active is when I am in my vehicle, going from place to place - the answer is a sort of yes. The only purpose it serves is for emergency use, so as long as there's no accident, or medical emergency, then you can say I go without it. It has been used to make a total of 7 calls since it was purchased - once to activate it, and one every 12 months or so to make sure it actually still works.
I prefer to get my data from something larger than a paperback book...
It's clearly not the teens replying to this thread is it lol....
Easily. I hardly ever use it anyway.
I wouldn't want to be without it for emergency calls when out, and I use SMS messaging occasionally may as much as ten a week but I do use a tablet which either connects through wifi or a mifi to give 3G connectivity.
So while I would particularly miss the phone, I would miss the cellular infrastructure.

My broadband speed - 750 Meganibbles/minute
Let me just Google that...
Joking aside, yes I could. Biggest downside though would be that I couldn't use my Jawbone fitness tracker (unless I repaired it with my tablet). Now if you're going to say no smartphone or tablet for a week then that's a much more difficult question.

I hardly use my phone, but not using it would put more burden on my wife, so I won't give it up.
No phone for a week? Sounds like utter bliss to me.
I used to make a point of not taking my phone out with me, some days, just to enjoy the feeling of not being reachable. Smartphones have made us available at any time of the day and I don't think that's a good thing. People get annoyed if you don't respond to their message within a suitable time frame (and don't get me started on the 'seen' thing on Facebook and WhatsApp - is there any point to it other than to drive people's paranoia that they are being ignored?)
I presume this phoneless week has a couple of caveats? One being I can take a Nokia 3310 with me for emergencies. The second being I would still have a laptop but I have to ignore the social media sites (again: bliss!)
I am happy for Hexus to pay for a week in a Lake District cottage so we can research this properly.
No phone for a week? You mad bro? Not a chance. I probably check my phone every 5 minutes at least. I've two phones, multiple email accounts, and I work in sales for a large IT training company so I use my phone for everything. And I mean everything, banking, internet, shopping, entertainment, Satnav, music. I use the Galaxy Note 3, and it replaced the Galaxy Note original. I also have 7", 10" and 12" tablets, and use them all for different things.
Ok, reading this I realise I'm probably a very bad example, but I'm in my 40's, have daily access to 4 different pc's as well, but the phone is taking up more and more of my internet access.
I even use my phone as my main camera now...
