Re: Reviews - UK crime commissioner wants US-style Adults Only game rating
"Children as young as five are being subject to graphic scenes while playing video games that have left them feeling extremely upset. Many parents might not be fully aware that these games contain such disturbing scenes. It is time for the industry to play a more proactive role in protecting young minds"
Quick thought. Why not let the parents be responsible? Radical idea I know but since they're already supposed to raise the children why not keep 18+ games away from them?
Mind Blown.

Is there an election coming up?

I think what we're all (Jonatron excluded) dancing around saying here is that, put simply, Adam Simmonds is a moron who is unequivocally out of touch with the world.
It comes back to what Knox said:

We don't need a nanny state; we need a state which implores people to take responsibility for their own actions.

I wonder what Cameroon thinks the PEGI 18 rating is?
Cameroon - "It means everyone can play"
Re: Reviews - UK crime commissioner wants US-style Adults Only game rating
Mass murder? - Well that means 'Lemmings' is ****ed ;)

Could be worse, your child could ask for a Lost Prophets album.
Re: UK crime commissioner wants US-style Adults Only game rating
All this nonsense to prevent kids from seeing this content is pointless to a degree. As an example, my almost 11 year old nephew has been bugging me recently to play GTAV next time stays over. His mum and dad wouldn't let him play it and, after playing it myself, neither would I. He has played Modern Warfare, Metro and is totally in love with DayZ at the moment. All games above his age rating but he is a well balanced, intelligent and nice young fella so we take balanced decisions on what we feel is acceptable - not only that but his parents set limits about how many hours he can play per week. Also when they are unsure about a game they'll ask me for advice. Responsible parenting I think it's called.
Now the reason I say it is pointless to a degree is that he already knows all the characters, story and has seen ton's of the content from watching YouTube videos. It's still important for us adults to set limits but kids can already see all of this content on their phones, tablets, consoles, smart TVs etc. Essentially its the parents that need to pull their fingers out and set the appropriate limits for their kids - attention (and vote) seeking clowns like Adam Simmonds would be best ignored.
