Its really weak of them not to include a single player campaign though, If they release a full single player campaign DLC then I will buy the game.
What utter crap.
Who do they think they are kidding? If DLC is planned, then that content could be in the base game instead, ergo, it has been held back.
The game is essentially owned by EA. It's going to be a DLC-frenzy as they do with every title they want to milk.
8 maps in nothing especially for an multi-player only title.
Expect the battlefront premium where all the maps that should be there on release are split up and sold as DLC.
EA and DLC announcements before release - Colour me surprised (NOT).
Yeah it's funny, who are they trying to kid? No one would have said 'let's hold this back for release' if it was always planned as a DLC heavy game. he should be in politics.
But...
I don't care about the EA and DLC negativity; I like the battlefield series and I love star wars. I want this bad :)
Most if not all AAA games in this day and age has parts held back so they can extend the ROI. They may not be core but it brings forward a separation of people who want to pay and those who don't. BF4 is a prime example, if a server is running maps with the DLC on, you can't play on them, you HAVE to pay for the DLC to play on those servers. It's a catch 22, there's enough people out there willing to pay for the extra to keep this elaborate extension of the ROI going.
Ye this really isnt surprising in the slightest, disappointing but not surprising. When EA got their hands on as big an IP as Star Wars though this was guaranteed to happen.
I think this sums up technology regression in the game industry perfectly:

if you think there's anything we're not including in the game to save it for DLC, I can tell you you're 100% wrong
Am I missing something? Do I think there is anything that EA is withholding? Yes, the damned DLC they are releasing mere weeks later. :censored:Quote:
Even though the game itself hasn't yet hit the shelves we already know that there is a dollop of DLC scheduled to be released less than a month after the launch date
Could we raise money for an Alzheimer's test for Jesper Nielsen asBut, but, but... you just said..Quote:
In this project, I've never heard anyone say 'Let's not do this for launch so we can do it as DLC instead'. Ever.
Oooh maybe he should be worried about his job security, as there is obviously stuff going on that he hasn't been told about.
I bought Titanfall and one year after release I got the DLC for free. I appreciate this approach, it shows understanding and generosity to the player base.
Talking of which, playerbase, it's a great game and first in a series, do play it online! It's a strong first person shooter challenge, with amazing co-op modes too. I like it (it's up there) and I've been gaming like 20 years.
I agree, I thought it was the most unique adaptive FPS shooter on the market. I haven't bought it yet but I played the crap out of it in Beta. I think I didn't buy it because literally all my friends whom I only play online games with didn't like it and I tend to stick with my community for online and branch out in singleplayer to the other stuff I like.
Considering that there are many star wars fans out there. they will still buy it and be disappointed at the end of the day.
Thank you EA for telling us what is the content of the new game, wont buy it.
And no Single Player? WHY???
I do like EA games but making a game based only on multiplayer FPS? nope sorry, no excitements.
Getting this regardless..
