The only game I've consistently watched on YouTube is Kerbal Space Program, because at least those do interesting things with rocket designs.

That might be worth me having a look at. I tried the free demo ages ago, couldn't get the ship to launch so quit in frustration. Keep meaning to go back to it.

Yeah it is pretty tricky, especially if you start out in career mode it limits your parts selection... Then again, on the other hand, career mode does kinda slowly ease you into it so you can better familiarise yourself with parts you gain. Bit of a double edged sword. But anyway, I'd highly recommend Scott Manley's YouTube channel, he has playlists of series for beginners just getting started, including a new series for v1.0.
