Hmm.. I can't help but not be excited in the least about yet another NFS game ! Especially with project cars and the upcoming dirt rally being so great.

"deep customisation, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative that pulls you through the game"
But no proper steering wheel support.

"Single player and seamless online modes will all be present to enjoy."
No thanks.
I don't want another game where I can't pause when playing offline. That one decision ruined the whole game for me.

Am I going to get yelled at if I admit to quite liking NFS:Most Wanted? Well, apart from that (expletive deleted) Autolog "feature" that annoyed the bejezus out of me. What I liked about it was that all the tearing around the countryside actually had a point - other than being first of course. Plus the wanton destruction of course... (cue evil laugh)
As you say, there's so many darn good racing games (exc Carmageddon) that the NFS "reboot" is going to have to do something pretty special to stand out.

The last NFS game I played was Hot Pursuit (2010), which was decent but nothing spectacular. Is Most Wanted (2012) any good? And did the whole 30fps lock get patched?
And I really need to try the new Carmageddon, loads of fun with the first one and its expansion (not so much with the second and definitely none with the third).

Re: Need for Speed reboot coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One in autumn
I was actually playing the original Most Wanted earlier and thoroughly enjoyed it, the newer games havent really interested me though. If we see a return to form like the original Most Wanted I'd buy it in a heartbeat but it seems this whole online integration nonsense is the way racing games are trying to go now, a shame really.
Other than the pursuits in Most Wanted that is, the AI in that was so incredibly stupid that replaying the game I hated every pursuit requirement for every blacklist racer, the AI was just too stupid to comprehend.

"Need for Speed is promised to deliver everything that the title stands for; "deep customisation, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative that pulls you through the game"."
I though NFS stands for exotic cars in exotic places... NFS 1,2,3,4, hot pursuit 2 and hot pursuit 2010 are for me the only games so far that are... well NFS games.
If the 4 first titles of a series doesn't give what a title stands for, what does?
(I don't say other games under the NFS title where not good games, but they could be title something else...)

Underground 2 was the last NFS game that actually kept me playing for hours. Had most wanted on the 360 but only used it for split screen with the kids.
Horizon 2 on the one is pretty darn impressive - take something special to top that.

If it's not a simulator, which it isn't by the look of it, I might give it a try. Couldn't do jack in Project Cars :(

Underground 2 HD would be epicer than epic. I actually picked a copy of U2 up in CEX the other month, but can't get it running on windows 8 :(

Mine is running fine - if I remember there are a few INI file edits that have to be done. Can you run in XP compatibility mode?

On 8.1? Might have to have another play. Forcing it into ultra wide might be a bit more tricky though

Yaaaaaawwwwwn. EA don't know how to make good games anymore. Last NFS I played to deathw as Underground 2. After that they were too samey samey.
