A steam controller would be nice as well as a new case. Mine is just no good. Probably buy some new 2tb drives as well. Any change and I would buy a new battery for my phone.
I would buy Xperia Z3+.
Two one plus. One for me one for sell
As pretty much every component in my PC is overdue an upgrade, it'd all go on that. Maybe keep £40 for a Steam controller to check it out.
With £500 to spend, I would probably purchase a new ZEN core based APU laptop in the near future!

MOAR monitors
A new tablet. I bought a Galaxy Tab S 8.4 not long ago, and in some ways it's lovely, but it has compatibility problems with many games, and the 16GB of internal storage is a serious limitation. For £500 I could get a 128GB iPad Mini 3. That would take me out of the Android ecosystem, and will cost me extra on re-buying some games, but it would have more games and fewer compatibility problems than Android has (and ample space to install them).
If the funds didn't expire soon, I'd probably wait to see how the Carrizo laptops turn out.
New GPU, RAM and storage for my aging PC and maybe a steam controller?
£500?
I could spend that several times over!
- A decent monitor
- A proper graphics card
- A full watercooling loop
In truth, I'd have so many options and it would be nice to not be restricted to the budget section of the shop!
Depending on the definition of 'technology', there is some old tech that would help fix up my 23-year-old motorcycle, too...
Motherboard, CPU & RAM - my most required upgrade. (Still running DDR2)
Failing that a cheap digital drum kit and a mechanical keyboard!
£500? Hmm, first thought would to sling a large chunk of that at the TekThing podcast - mainly because I enjoy it's quirkyness, but also because it'd annoy TWiT.
Second thought would be instead to replace my missus's old, but loved (and heavily mod'd - by me) Inspiron laptop. It's old enough to have a "Windows Vista" sticker on it, but still zipping around nicely. The replacement would be an HP Envy x360, and I'd replace the SSHD with a smaller, but "proper", SSD. (She doesn't need 500GB - 250GB would be fine, and heck, even 128GB is do-able).
Third thought - if I have to be a selfish b and spend it on me, would be to get the parts to build a very quiet microserver to replace my docked Ubuntu laptop. Silent (i.e. fanless) isn't a requirement, but I'd want whisper quiet and enough space for at least four 2.5" drives. Then the old laptop would get a downgrade from Ubuntu to Windows 10.
Or for <£60 you could just put in a uSD card and put your media content on that. Okay won't solve the compat problems, but be a whole lot cheaper than an iPad and having to rebuy your titles. (PS not convinced about the "have more games" for the iPad either)
a PCI-E hard drive
M.2 SSD and anther 8gb of ram, though an IPS 144hz monitor would be a close second. I just want to get rid of the mechanical seagate beast I have
Towards Sony A7 Mk2 or A7R Mk2 camera.
Canon seem to think I might want to upgrade to 760D but it's physically bigger. Canon FF SLR cameras are even bigger.
Same size or smaller is the only way I am prepared to go.
