Re: Apple updates iMac range with 4K and 5K displays

The memory is soldered down in the new 21.5" iMac, so there's no upgrade option there.
No SSD by default on a £1000+ computer is ridiculous in 2015. And Macs really suffer from not having an SSD.
No USB type C limits future options.
Integrated graphics only on the 21.5" - it struggles if you have two 4K displays apparently.
If you are hell bent on getting an iMac, you really should stretch for the 27" with an SSD.

The peripherals looks nice, but they are expensive.

I'd be more interested if this was the standalone monitor getting an upgrade.

Do they? My 3 year old iMac has a fusion drive and the performance on that is still great.

I understand now why going fifth-gen in the 21.5", it's all about integrated graphics performance

    meeehh... boring!

I want a new Anniversary Edition Mac. Think black/gold or black/rose gold iMac G4 with a detachable screen that doubles up as an oversized iPad.

Bezels make the screen easier to read. The current 'no bezel' craze is purely looks and most definitly isn't for performance.

Wieird thing is, apple tend to design machine for work not just looks!
