I replaced both my razer keyboard and mouse recently after only 18 or so months as the rubber coating was peeling badly.

I have Razer mousemats and those seem to have lasted well. But Logitech is probably my preferred choice for quality and durability. My MX518 works as well now as it did when I get it 4+ years ago. I can't even remember the year in which I bought it. And it's had A LOT of use.

True on the mat front, my destructor pad is about 6-7years old now and still performing as new despite being a little shiny and worn in places.
