I just cannot understand the thinking behind the HDMI not being 2.0.

What's worse is that it doesn't have Displayport 1.3 either (DP 1.3 dual-mode is capable of HDMI 2.0 output). Seems like the interfaces are seriously out of date for a just-released flagship card.

ah yes a 'selective' benchmark to show it's performance without any information about the rest of the system etc. I'll wait on a proper review I think.

In a way the lack of up to date hdmi/displayport really does show how 'out of touch' AMD are. They should be looking at ways to make people 'want' their products not make them think if it's right for them.

nVidia's £879 titan X doesn't have DP 1.3 either. Must just be taking a while to filter into the production pipeline.

I didn't really know anything about HDMI 2.0 as I still use DVI Dual Link. I've been thinking about getting a Display Port cable at some point though. But HDMI is something I avoid. I think most gamers will be just fine using the Display Port connection.

But now I've read about HDMI 2.0, it does seem a little odd they didn't include that. Could it be to do with costs? I don't know.. Now I'm wondering, do those 4K TV's come with Display Port inputs these days? Because I'm sure the monitors do..

both, average and max. There's also a graph showing fluctuations between max (54) and min (43)

It does however have hdmi 2.0... I wasn't saying 1.3 was necessary but if it was me I would have tried to get the latest features in where possible, or at the very least have one option available 'just in case'.

But at least it has HDMI 2.0!! WTF were AMD thinking? This cuts out a lot of the market imo, esp those of us that planned to have a Steam Machine in the lounge paired to a 4k TV...

I think you may have read the graph wrong.

54 FPS is the average. It appears to peak at something like 62 FPS.

no I didn't read the little text under 54 correctly... yeah that's average rather than max, my bad.

Personally, I don't care about the lack of HDMI 2.0 or DP 1.3, so it seems like I'm going to spend all my PC-budget on a Fury or Fury X-equipped machine. That is, if they prove to be as good as AMD says.

Re: AMD shares some R9 Fury X Far Cry 4 UHD performance charts

My Qnix only has a single DVI-DL interface & I'm not sure how reliable active adaptors are, so there's another minor annoyance...

Not sure there's a single product using DP 1.3 yet, surprisingly. I've not seen one anyway. Still there's always the twin Fury to look forward to...

the removal of two DVI ports tells me they might well have HDMI 2.0 Support
the UHD HDMI 2.0 spec was released September 4, 2013, 2 years ago
