4k + 28" = nope.
Why not? The iMac runs a 27" 5k screen and I've heard nothing but praise for it.

VGA lives on but DVI-D dies... kind of strange IMO.

Good value
Will be interested in the colour reproduction on this, at that price it may replace my 27" 1440p IPS.
I will say I do video/photo editing so it is rather important for me.
DVI is limited to 2560x1600 isn't it?
TN Panels done right definitely aren't that bad, I don't know how AOC's track record is, but the specs of this monitor reminds me of my recent IIyama Prolite B2888HSU-B1 and that compared to my IPS based Asus MG279 the image quality really isn't that different. I don't know what the deal is with these 4K monitors and VGA, I suspect they've added as many interfaces as possible to make PIP worth it, however it doesn't say if the AOC supports PIP though.
is this really worth it?
Good to see 4K screens falling in price quickly; With VAT, UK customers could have this for under £300.
I would have thought you could with the latest HDMI given it can do 4K. Still, more to the point you can over displayport.
The video cards I have used that are capable of 120Hz gaming have all had DP on them.
If you have a monitor that required a dual link DVI-D video card output, then that might require a DP to DVI-D active adapter before long, but such is the world of computing. At this point DVI is a stagnant and dying standard.
From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface ...
In December 2010, Intel, AMD, and several computer and display manufacturers announced they would stop supporting DVI-I, VGA and LVDS-technologies from 2013/2015, and instead speed up adoption of DisplayPort and HDMI.[10] They also stated: "Legacy interfaces such as VGA, DVI and LVDS have not kept pace, and newer standards such as DisplayPort and HDMI clearly provide the best connectivity options moving forward. In our opinion, DisplayPort 1.2 is the future interface for PC monitors, along with HDMI 1.4a for TV connectivity".
VGA is so old that it is kind of a special case and turns up in the oddest places thanks to being used in old point of sale, signage systems etc thanks to it traditionally being really cheap.
I've had a 27" 4k monitor, and its too small for the res even if you sit 50cm from it. You really have to squint closely to appreciate all the detail. I swore I would not get another that was less than 32".
Aside from that, who would take a mac users opinion seriously anyway.
PC owners as well.... It's apparently very good for editing 4k video while having spare screen estate for the editing app. Could be that OSX scales better to high dpi screens than Windows does.
