This wouldn't be unusual for Nintendo - AMD already supply the GPU for the Wii U (as they did for the Wii and Gamecube)
Why doesn't Nintendo just die? No one sensible enough buys their consoles.
Obviously the Wii's selling more than the 360 or PS3, or the 3ds selling more than 50 millions units, makes the buyers total 'spactards'.Quote:

People liking a different type of game doesn't make them 'not sensible' does it? Not everyone cares so much about MOAR POWAHH when it comes to video games, and Nintendo have some very popular and well-liked titles on their consoles. They might not compare on paper vs the other consoles but the graphics still manage to be very good - polygon count isn't everything. Indeed, they're still very popular consoles especially in Japan.
Their heavy-handed copyright control could use some work for PR though.
I hope this time they have Mario Kart and Zelda games lined up for or close to the release date.
Add me to the list of people that wish N didn't release another home console......I ain't buying another niche console yet I would like to play some of the N games......

As for N posting loses.....their handheld business will probably keep them afloat but I feel they will never recover the console market after the spectacular market-scrambler that was the Wii. They sold so many of them but unfortunately most were to non-gamers and now their image is tarnished as a supplier of ultra-casual games.......which is now mostly covered by mobile apps.
They will need to do something truly spectacular to turn the tables now.

Not IMO. Those consoles were not sold en-mass to people who never really gamed, while the Wii was. The Wii was so successful as it sold to people who would never have bought a console before and possibly never will again. Gaming is about playing games. It might be monopoly,pictionary or GTA V, it's all the same.
Tech does not produce great games, if anything it has destroyed most of the market. The wii was cheap to buy, easy to develop for hence it had a huge range of games from shovelware through to some classics. Also the majority are rather crap with a controller, so motion controls made it easy for them.
Lets hope for a console with good games and accessible controls. If so, people will buy it.
Speak for yourself please. Explain what's so great on the other consoles, that isn't usually a multi-platform release to begin with? Nintendo at least despite limitations, can do a lot with limited hardware. Also that's very bitter to say, after the president has passed away recently.Quote:

A fair number of first party titles have either died, or gone multi-platform due to the ballooning costs for the "next-gen" graphics. Don't beat on a company, just because you dislike their decisions.

So while the "technically best" hardware doesn't guarantee you success, the image of the console is important. The Wii and Wii-U have given N an image that the traditional console gamer will not like and the casual gamer has their mobile/tablet now.
So what is the 'image' of a PC gamer?
