Ooh that's handy, fits right into my time frame for my 3 yearly PC upgrade, will definitely take a proper look once released

Not as sexy looking as the gigabyte ones, but the real benefit here is that they are not gigabyte ones.

I really hate all the ridiculous marketing applied to 'gaming' gear.

'Reactive Armour'?! C'monnnnnnnn. It's a heat shield.

I still don't understand what makes a motherboard "gaming"......and in recent times it has become even more silly to market a mobo as a gamers board.

A valid point, any board that runs in a reliable manner could be described as such; the differences seem to rely mostly on the bling.

All the cases I have ever had have been windowless so I just pick whichever has my favored feature set at the time, mind you the only board I have had fail on me was an Intel branded workstation board.

Heat shield sounds almost as cool!

Does Z170 motherboards supports DDR3 memory as well ?

The only real question I have is how much are these things going to cost at launch. That's the only thing that'll decide whether I pull the trigger or not.

Some Biostar ones will do (or both DDR3 & 4). These ones don't.

Very nice, although that Krait edition is grabbing me more.

I'm less put off my the heat shield and more concerned with the Mystic Light that has been transferred from the side skirts of a 1 litre Nova onto the edge of this mobo.

I guess it's the tech equivalent of painting go-faster stripes on a car. Anything that glows neon Red and has a sticker of a scantily clan female warrior on it MUST be great hardware.

Not even sure why I dislike these boards so much
