Okay, so if it is largely the same what are the differences?
Seems to me that fans are used less of late and besides, the motherboard (AT least ASUS) has it's own fan controller which works fine.
I have the V1 Grid+. It's a pretty decent fire and forget controller. Set up your fan curves and forget about it.
The CAM software seems to update fairly often, ironing out any little annoyances.
Pretty good all round
The only problem with the V1 was what appear to be a total lack of stock!

Huh, I always assumed the GRID came with temperature sensors/probes but looking at it now I can't see anything to suggest that's true. I certainly hope that's possible through the software then; it seems like a pretty over-engineered solution if all it does is tie 8 fans to a custom curve based on CPU temp.
Is something like this worth getting for the new desktop I'm building? I'm new to building PC (this will be my first) and haven't even thought about something like this :S Thanks in advance for any advice
