Assassin's Creed: Syndicate PC development needs extra time

The "stable, optimized" release will arrive nearly a month after the console versions.

How about another year or two, eh, Ubisoft?

However much more work it really needs, just try bringing out a working game that isn't riddled with micro transactions and maybe you can restore a bit of faith in people.

Was the last one "riddled" with IAP's? I'm asking the question because I forswore off of the AC series - despite being a self-confessed fanatic - after the shocking travesty that was the US-based one, and the buggy Pirate one, (buggy to the point that I gave up on the PC version and "downgraded" to the XBox360 one).

If it needs extra time for PC development then either
    (a) Ubi is finally trying to get their quality standard up (presumably because they're sick of being roasted in the press)
    or
    (b) it is so appallingly bad that even they think it's not "of merchantable quality".

I leave it to the readers discretion to decide which they believe...

I'm in no hurry, I do want to play the game, it looks awesome, but I still haven't finished AC:Revelations so I have plenty of time and a few titles to get through before I buy this at what will most likely be 25% of the original retail price or less with any luck.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Syndicate PC development needs extra time

The way I read this is:

"We were going to have release parity with consoles, regardless of whether the PC version was crap or not. Then we saw what happened with Arkham Knight. Plus, on the back of our awfully shoddy PC versions we've crapped out in the past couple of years, probably best to let it cook for another month even if we don't actually do any work on it in that time. It'll at least give us some plausible deniability".

And let me just say, the way I read it is the guaranteed to be the way it is in this case...

The last one I played was the Pirate one, and although it definitely had some issues, I loved it (I gave it a good chance to be patched before I played it). I'm just not a fan of the way they keep rushing out games in a terrible state, then lace horrible little dlc/microtransaction crap throughout the bug riddled mess. I don't feel Ubisoft take much pride in what they do anymore. They're not the only ones, though.

I think they're taking extra time because they don't want to keep adding to their bad reputation. They're basically on the same path as EA, just about a year or so behind.

As long as it looks better than watchdogs and works better than AC Unity it'll be OK but then it couldn't get much worse especially considering batman arkham knight.
