    While $50 million is nothing to be sniffed at it seems like chump change when compared to the $11 billion profit Intel made last year.

    ^Well, they need to invest mainly in the tech they can monetize today (CPUs, GPUs, SSDs and so on), they can't just throw half of their profit into a venture that's still years away from becoming possible to sell.
