Not had a mobile since 2012 for security reasons and to be honest I'm happier without it. If I were to get another it'd be one of the motorola modular phones that have been delayed, being modular means they are less of a security risk after some careful mods.
I've only had the current one since 2007, so I'm not ready for an upgrade yet.
When I do, it'll almost certainly be more of the same, or as close to it as is still available, unless someone manages to convince me I need a smartphone, 'cos every time I get tempted and look into it, I end up reinforcing the reasons why I still don't have one.
If something goes on the market that does what I want AND, critically, has pretty much bullet-proof security and privacy features, I'm interested. I'm not holding my breath.
Currently own an S4, wanted an S6 but when I saw the specs I started to hesitate. Looking at the ridiculous UK market prices, I think I am going to wait for Xiaomi Mi 5.
ps. OnePlus2 is **** with its under-clocked 810.

I'm probably getting the Marshall London.
I have an Xperia Z2 which I absolutely love and does everything I want of it, but my employer pays my monthly phone bill. So this means in effect I get a phone for free, it makes no sense for me to stick with this contract once it's up in around April / May.
I'll see what is out around then, but it won't be the Z5 as I have no desire for a 4k mobile screen which will just eat through it's battery.
That's only on the premium, the normal and compact are 1080p iirc.Originally Posted by [DW
Honestly for me I'm in no rush to change my phone but if I do I'll likely give Windows a go once I've checked out all the t&c's properly, can't really be any worse than Android though. How I miss symbian on my p900i![]()
I'll be getting the next win 10 mobile, whenever it is announced.
Just bought 3 Samsung A5 last night via uswitch with 1000 mins, 5000 texts and 2 GB 3g data which is more free now because of 4g customers @ £45 a month for all 3 phones. Bargain at £15 a month for each phone.
Currently using a SIM-free LG G3, the G4 isn't a big enough step up, but if I'm flush next year (unlikely) then perhaps a G5 might be in my future.
What I'd really like though is an Ara phone - the idea of being able to tailor to fit what I need is appealing. If not one of those then Motorola would be in with a shout, failing that then Lumia's look interesting, but I've too much invested in Android apps to consider that seriously at the moment. I tend to run my phones until they stop doing what I need then change - never been one of those "I need this years model" folks.
No iPhone? Correct, although I can undoubtedly see the attraction, they're just not for me - I prefer to not have to jump through hoops to get what I need to do done. Plus Apple's "my way or the highway" attitude doesn't work for me. But if you've got an iPhone and it's suiting you then I'm pleased.
Actually, are there any genuinely bad phones out there these days (new)? I'm getting the vibe that they're all pretty decent these days and final choice comes down to whatever might suit you better than the other models. Just fractional points.
I think I'll get a Note 3 or Note 4 - I've owned Note 10.1 for almost three years and I really like those S Pen (and other) features. These phones are still rocking and are a whole lot cheaper than new models. Or maybe I'll get some Lumia, I've been thinking about it for a while.
I am looking to upgrade to one of the older mobiles.
HTC ONE M8
OR
LG G2 Flex
OR
Galaxy A5
Motorola Moto G is overhyped. The missus has one and it's heavier than the S2 and the back is uneven. Taking off the back cover is also a challenge. The 1GB RAM doesn't help either![]()
Currently using an Xperia Z2, and I'm very happy with it. The improvements of newer devices have so far failed to impress me enough to replace it. I'll probably keep it as long as it's still usable, and replace it with an Xperia Z6 (or later) or a Project Ara phone.
As was said by someone else, the regular Z5 is 1080x1920. Only the 5.5" Z5 Premium is UHD. If I were you, I'd wait another 6 months for the inevitably Snapdragon 820-powered Z6, though. Even though newer 810s are better than early runs, they're still power hogs.Originally Posted by [DW
