GTX 960 with 192 bit bus? That ties with 3GB, but ... what?
Looks nice, well apart from the stupid yellow/orange ring around the power button for a living room pc.
Seems like it's basically a laptop in a desktop case which might explain some of the 'oddities' with things like the gtx960.
The specs seem to suit the 970M more than a 960 though. The 970M is 192bit in 3x64bit with up to 6GB GDDR5 support so if they use 1GB per 'channel' instead of 2GB you could make it 3GB total.
Guessing it's going be priced £500 more than it should be!
agreed with aidan, having only hdmi is kinda sucky if you want to connect up to a monitor or want more than 60hz output as i'm sure this is still probably limited to 1.4a hdmi
(correct me if i'm wrong).
at least with a displayport you could connect up to a projector or monitor and get up to 120-144hz (not that the 960 can prob achieve that but that's besides the point) or resolutions above 1080p.
The only thing I'm really interested in is for this sort of box is: noise - is there custom cooling? Is it as good (quiet) as the Alienware Alpha for example?
If it's noisy, forget it...
Honestly this is what I've been waiting for for a long time. A laptop in a small, "desktop" style form factor. As long as it's between $600-800, it's a win in my book.
Which would also make sense of the product naming, of course. The only thing that would make sense is if nvidia refused to let them use a mobile GPU "name" in a desktop form-factor, and insisted they use a desktop GPU name for it. Based on the specs the performance is probably near enough to a desktop 960 to make no difference....
EN970 on the box and GTX960 inside mmm wonder how many will get it wrong expecting a GTX970 inside.
