    As an artist, this sounds amazing and i hope the price isn't too out of reach (it will be initially but will hopefully drop to consumer price levels eventually).

    For more on 3d art reproduction look up Willemijn Elkhuizen's page at delft univ or similarly look at "Océ - 3D Fine Art Reproductions" on youtube. Oce being part of canon, I assume this current story is an extension of that earlier work.

    While I'm not sure how large the market for reproductions is, the integrated capture of surface colour, reflectance, contours, etc, would be a boon for texture creation for Physically Based Rendering.
