Will Hexus being reviewing the new Surface? I was disappointed to find you've only reviewed the Surface RT back in 2012 as I'm looking into getting one

    YES!

Looks the perfect upgrade to my trusty Razer Blade 2013.

Any ideas exactly which Nvidia GPU they are using? And how much GDDR5?

[edit] Just realised how thick this thing is... I'm not sure I like that hinge design.

Re: Microsoft unveils Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book 2-in-1

I watched the keynote live, (thats live on my pc not actually there) first time i have ever sat through something like that and not got thoroughly bored.
All the devices looked pretty good and Apple were ... well outappled.
If the devices all get a direct dollar to pound pricing (so for example $1499 becomes £1499) then they are going to be very expensive here in the UK.
    I want a SurfaceBook and a 950XL though.

Re: Microsoft unveils Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book 2-in-1

What I want to know: is the Surface Book a full fledged Surface Pro 4 with a slightly bigger screen? If it is then sign me up for one! On their website they keep referring to it as a clipboard and doesn't really advertise how powerful it is in that mode while they love blowing Surface Pro 4's horn.

edit: Like does it have Windows Hello?

edit 2: and will it be available on the 26th in the UK and Ireland?

Zhaoman, as far as I can tell:

Yes it's like a surface tablet (with upto core i7 / 16Gb RAM / 1Tb SSD), the keyboard dock then houses the discreet nVidia GPU (switching to intel integrated when in tablet mode...no worse than the surface 4)
Yes it will have Windows Hello, for sure.
No sure about UK availablilty and pricing
nVidia GPU is to be confirmed still

It's incredible that you can preorder the Surface Book without knowing which CPU and GPU it has

Well if they're targeting MacBook users, then this is the perfect tactic...

UK pre order store pricing for the Pro 4 ... http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msuk/en_GB/pdp/productID.326546100
Entry level is way more exepnsive here than the USA so once again UK buyers get shafted.
No Surface Book pre order available in the UK as yet.

Re: Microsoft unveils Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book 2-in-1

I looked at the Surface Pro 3 pricing for US / UK and running the same conversion (which is very reasonable actually). It's typically US price, directly converted to ££ + 20% VAT (+ a little rounding up, typically £20-25) which is fair enough for shipping and currency fluctuations.

As such my prediction is that the base model Surface Book with 128Gb SSD / i3 Skylake / 8Gb RAM will retail for £1199.00, the version you'd probably want though - 256Gb SSD / i5 Skylake / 8Gb RAM / Dedicated GPU, I suspect will be between £1499.00 and £1549.00.

Ouch. This makes the equivalent spec MacBook Pro's cheaper http://www.apple.com/uk/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro

13" / i5 / 128Gb / 8Gb is £999.00 (note this also has better Intel graphics - Iris Pro 6100, comapred to Intel HD 520 for the Surface Book)
    13" / i5 / 256Gb / 8Gb is £1199.00 (note this doesn't have dedicated GPU, same Iris Pro 6100)

So for £1200 you can get better Intel graphics and larger hard drive if you go for a MacBook Pro instead of the Surface Book, for what I suspect will be the same figure.

That book looks seriously nice, but not at that price range thank you. I shall have to hope they come out with a paperback edition

I was looking at the Surface Book and thinking - yes, where do I pre-order... then I saw the price... disappointing, very.
