Re: AMD Corporate Fellow, Phil Rogers, joins Nvidia
Wonder how Nvidia fanboys will see this, does an ex ATI man joining Nvidia make Nvidia worse or better? :D

Re: AMD Corporate Fellow, Phil Rogers, joins Nvidia
Or how AMD fanboys are going to see it, does it mean Mr Rogers is going to be using stolen tech from AMD to help Nvidia? ;)

Re: AMD Corporate Fellow, Phil Rogers, joins Nvidia
Interested in knowing what he will be doing there but I guess nvLink may be the best guess for someone with HSA experience....unless nVidia are planning to move into APU/SoC development more than the failure that is Tegra.....

Suddenly HSA becomes important for them! ;)

Re: AMD Corporate Fellow, Phil Rogers, joins Nvidia
don't they have some sort if 'non compete clause' in their contracts?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-compete_clause
oh wait, Nvidia HQ is in California, they don't care about that sort of thing.
other interesting thing: http://hexus.net/tech/news/industry/...specification/

An
EE Times report says that the HSA Foundation contacts Intel and Nvidia roughly once a year to check if they are interested but have always, thus far received an answer of "no thank you".
wonder if next year they'll say "yes please"

All we know for sure is AMD is going to post another whopping loss in the next for days. :clapping:

Reading this with little fear that nvidia GPU's price will raise up.

Lets hope the company you work at does not start making losses -perhaps we should start clapping too! ;)

Unlikely - he's gone into their server stuff.

Really?
LOL, this is funny. I buy a competing product and now I'm going to laugh at company posting losses and cutting back it's workforce, LMAO!
/S
I think you need to grow up. You think Nvidia will keep releasing cards annually if AMD keeps shrinking?
-
Re: AMD Corporate Fellow, Phil Rogers, joins Nvidia
Yeah, I don't think there's much to celebrate in any kind of demise or job cuts of AMD - and I work for a competitor!
-
Re: AMD Corporate Fellow, Phil Rogers, joins Nvidia
Research is expensive. Hard to imagine how the demise of AMD would encourage Intel or NVidia to improve their products, or for that matter to keep their prices down.

Excellent isn't it, I can't wait for AMD to go completely bust so that I have to pay £1000 for a middling CPU and graphics card. Go monopoly! /sarc

Re: AMD Corporate Fellow, Phil Rogers, joins Nvidia
ohhhhh dear if NVIDIA is 'purchasing' AMD employees then AMD is about to launch something big and nvidia is about to copy

Why do you think that?
