Quite disappointed they didn't keep the form factor of the 1st gen Hue and have it mounted in the 5.25" bay with physical controls over digital.

The problem I see is that so many different companies have their own RGB/LED lighting systems. You need half a dosen incompatible apps all running in your tray if you want the whole thing.

nzxt tells us that the hue+ is available for pre-order now for £39.99 / €59.99 +vat.
    HOW MUCH?

Do people actually pay that to put lights in a PC? No wait, of course they do.

I have the original HUE and it is great but I ended up taking the mounting off and it is internal atm, so this would be nicer to have as a 2.5inch mountable system using software

That is a lot of money =/

I would pay that, but only if it had the GRID 2 built in. Plus, that way it would only use 1 internal header.

I have the Aquaero 6 Pro at about £150 and that is amazing and much better than any other fan control I have ever used, Corsairs Link solution was such a disappointment, if you bought both NZXT GRID+ V2 and HUE+ and it came remotely close to the Aquaero at half the price then it is a bargain.

I am not sure why everybody expects things cheap these days if it is good and it lasts you many years without having to upgrade every year like most equipment then you get what you pay for, the real question is 'is the NZXT GRID+ V2 and HUE+ products that you will use for a long period like 5 plus years' Because Corsair Link was pile of rubbish I stopped using after 6 months, my Aquaero 6 Pro is something I can see myself using for 10 years etc.

£15 for two strips isn't bad, other magnetic leds strips such as the bitfenix alchemy 2.0 cost more than that for one.

Considering most standalone products for non-PCs cost twice as much, that's actually a very good price. Even buying just the raw hardware off no-name eBay suppliers isn't any cheaper.

You're missing my point. It's not whether it's good or bad compared to the competition. It's that people actually pay to put pretty coloured lights in their PCs at all. What next, fluffy dice?

Need to make them more competitive - I used the Satechi RGB LED Kit priced at £22 and see in the build log here:
    https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/b/MrjcCJ

Amazing colours - really pleased with and cheaper than the article price of £39.99

As the market for fluffy dice, Baby on Board/Dad's Taxi signs and go faster stripes show; some people will pay quite a bit to attach tat to things they enjoy using.
