Thoughts geeks ??
Re: Mozilla claims latest Firefox 42 release offers "the most privacy"
Never dumped it, in 12 years. Chrome has always frustrated me, one way or the other.
Re: Mozilla claims latest Firefox 42 release offers "the most privacy"
Now just make it run stable, locks up all the time for me :/

Ermmm, there was never a reason to dump FF to go to chrome. You just got marketed into it.
Re: Mozilla claims latest Firefox 42 release offers "the most privacy"
I use firefox since ver.3 but as of 1lately it is hanging all the time, I open 3 tabs and it stop responding for like 30-40 seconds, come back and after like 10s it freeze again for another 30something seconds.
I switched to waterfox which is basically firefox with a 64bit wrap, but being able to address more RAM is enough to have a way better experience.
The only problem is that is usually behind firefox in updates, we are still in v40.
Re: Mozilla claims latest Firefox 42 release offers "the most privacy"
I never CBA to swap over, so been using Fox for ages anyway.
Only issue I have is with videos and sometimes scrolling pages, as I get that wobbly 'VHS stripe' thing halfway across the screen.

use fox. not an issue with it. Is it your add-ons perhaps?

wooohhaaa I take it back, just updated the firefox (never deleted it in the first place) and it work fine!
Re: Mozilla claims latest Firefox 42 release offers "the most privacy"
I never ditched Firefox either. I love the features, but it runs badly on old tech. I run it on a 4GB 32bit machine at work and sometimes it grabs over 2GB or ram causing the whole system to slow down. The only way to fix it is close it and open it again, then it runs OK for a while (same tabs open). Havent tried Firefox Lite, but that may be the way to go.

Interesting I switched to chrome recently because firefox became slow and would lock up but waterfox sounds good.

I have used Firefox for years, I haven't had it lock up in quite a while but I know BBC News videos seldom work!
Re: Mozilla claims latest Firefox 42 release offers "the most privacy"
I tend to find that lockups all trace back to the jimmy saville of computer software.....flash.
