I have a couple of drawers stuffed with the various huge pipe and aluminium fin coolers bought over the past 6 years. Most of them do not really achieve much more than place a severe strain on the Mobo by virtue of their leaning weight which means a strap mod somewhere to make me less anxious

Now they appear to be coming back again. I think I will stick with the liquid cooled alternatives where weight problems do not ocurr

I am with Tiger on this one... they are just so heavy I mean 900g hanging off a motherboard is a little worrying in my eyes.

As my motherboard is significantly stronger than my previous and sits horizontally in my case the weight of this cooler doesn't concern me. However, looking at what appears to be a universal backplate I would be concerned that the protruding solder/pins on the back of the board would prevent it sitting flush and therefore creating a problem with cpu/cooler contact.

Other than that I like the look of this beast and I love the cut out for the RAM.

Until it springs a leak or the motor packs up causing the CPU to thermal throttle (or worse).

How often has that happened to you!? Been using all-in-one liquid coolers for the last 5 years with no issues at all...

Just get a decent case that doesn't force you to mount the motherboard vertically.

I have in my PC is Thermaltake BigTyp 14 Pro and it weighs 800 grams, mounts on a standard AMD FM2 without Backplate
