WATER proof? replaceable battery?

No replaceable battery no buy!
Got my wileyfox swift for £99 with replaceable battery to replace my galaxy SII that was getting long in the tooth. Flagship phones are dead for me tbh, we've reached the point of "good enough" phones being cheap and some of which even feature a removable battery.

I am willing to do without one if it has the other.. but does this phone has either?
Also, the S5 Active had a removable battery, and there are quite a few tests showing that it functioning normally even after being fully submerged.
Yes, you'd lose that function if you fit a 3rd party back cover typically found in extended battery. So no Zero Lemon and the likes. However you could, if inclined, carry a couple of batteries for a long hike, and know that if the rain start pouring really suddenly and heavily, that the phone at least should be okay.
Well, at least they brought back the MicroSD on the non-curved screen. I'll still wait and see what LG brings to the table first, but I think the 2016 is when I'll be getting a new phone.

Water Proof: Yeah, maybe an IPX7 so you can use it under heavy rain.
Replaceable battery: I'm ok for it not being replaceable as long as is a high capacity one. We already have the Droid Turob with 3,900mAh. The sad part is that the current trend is thinner phones and since the S7 will be the flagship it will probably have something around 2600-2800mAh and a 4K display to make sure its being drained each day.
I can see the strategy behind samsung.
- Make the customer miss the expandable storage with the argument of making the experience faster.
- Make the customer miss the removable battery with the argument of a "unibody".
- Make the customer miss the device being waterproof despite the fact that someone like SONY has been doing it for quite a while now without sacrificing features.
THEN a couple or a few years later you launch the next model, the "flagship killer" that includes all those missing features and BOOM you'll own the market

microSD. Whell, that took S6 to figure out that it's still a good idea.
Force touch... force touch... I swear I've seen that somewhere else....
Tunnah (16-12-2015)
I had the 6S with force touch and it wasn't all that in my opinion, in fact it was quicker just to tap the link or image or whatever than mess around pushing the screen harder.
Currently have a S6 Edge now.

I really couldn't care less. Phones have hit a wall. They did do 2 years ago. I just want a strong phone with a 2 day battery. Screw the bells and whistles
I am with the High Order Of Priests Of The Galactic Empire and I have to ask where you heard this phrase. Our priests settled out of court and ALL of those children were made to sign non-disclosure agreements. Technically speaking those priests never physically laid a hand on those boys and what they decided to do ENTIRELY UPON THEIR OWN FREE WILL is not our faults.
If you continue to spread these vicious rumours you will be hearing from our lawyers
Although I've always, until my latest, had a phone with a removable battery I don't think they're needed for MOST people these days. The main reason anyone will ever open their battery cover is to replace the battery if it dies (stops holding charge) because the multitude of external high capacity batteries which charge via USB instead of needing a special battery charger, plus no need to turn the phone off as you do when changing the battery, makes the use case of swapping out batteries on the go a very niche market.
It's a bummer not being able to change the battery if it dies though, there's no getting around it.
If you can name a consumer smartphone on the market today with a battery voltage different from 3.7V, I will take your statement seriously
But a big plus of removable battery is that you can fit a larger capacity battery into it. Yes you will lose the water resistance it formally if you opt for that option, which is why I consider them fair trade off, but a lot of phones do not even have built-in water resistance anyway. And personally, I don't think it is very convenient to charge via external batteries. This usually happen when I am outside (if I was indoor, there is a better chance that I can just leave the phone plugged), meaning that I need to put both the phone attached to the battery in the pocket, periodically check that the cable hasn't come loose.. and if I happen to need to use the phone at that time, it can be done, but is more unwieldy than just having a fat battery in the first place, and I'd much rather swap the battery instead.
I do agree that it is not something most people doing their 9-5 will as long as the battery life isn't -too- awful. But when necessary, I still see external batteries as an inferior workaround.
Maybe those battery cover thing might be better though as I am guessing that you probably don't have to worry about the charging cable coming loose (again, not a problem if you are on a desk, but a problem if it is in a pocket and you are moving around).
