Ohh no, ugly coolers... the horror. It's stupid to add even a few £ to the price of the CPU retail package just for the incredibly tiny % of people with windowed cases who then actually use the stock cooler.

A quieter cooler is maybe worth it or a smaller one with better performance in SFF cases probably worth it as that's a large portion of the market now.

this is good thing specially for people who run out of budget but the down fall will be preventing them from OC'ing the RIG

Re: AMD Wraith Stock CPU Cooler revealed (video)

The Wraith is rated for 125W dissipation and so it will only be bundled on suitable lower wattage processors.
Outside of the FX-9000 series nonsense, when was the last time AMD released a desktop CPU with a TDP >125W?

Re: AMD Wraith Stock CPU Cooler revealed (video)

The article says this is a bigger heatsink, but I am convinced it is an identical heatsink it is just the stupid and hard to replace 70mm fan has been replaced with a 92mm fan with shroud.

I have tried to work out how to do that myself in the past, but without a 3D printer or going the ugly route of using lots of silicon sealant the old fan mountings are pretty hard to work around.

Re: AMD Wraith Stock CPU Cooler revealed (video)

About time they came up with a new solution. The cooler I got with my FX chip was too small for it and only about half of my chip was in contact with the heatsink base. Let's hope the sizes match the CPU size

The smartest cooler i evern seen is from Liqtech ,i bought liqtech 240.After using it with 4770k with stock frequencies i relised,by taking some measures that it could fit on delidded cpu and it did.
