Nice, though a bit sparse on technical details at the moment.
Think my ideal monitor just changed to a 24" 1440p OLED 144hz variable refresh rate. Make it happen Dell :p

AOC and Philips have new Adobe monitors.

Re: Dell announces the UltraSharp 30 4K OLED monitor
Is there a danger of using seriously accurate monitor for video editing? what if you edit a movie with color tricks here and there, then when you play the video file on 'ordinary' monitors the images lack some colors or even the shadows appear not as per your settings.

Professional monitors will have colour profiles to limit the colour gamut of the monitor and can be calibrated.

Accurate doesn't mean colour tricks. Just means that the starting point for 'ordinary' monitors approximations is better, so at worst it'll be no worse than not using an accurate monitor, and at best it'll still look better and more consistent across different monitors since you're starting from a more 'correct' value in the first place.
EG for illustration purposes only: If you're using an 'ordinary' monitor that adjusts colours in integers, you might set a colour to say '8'. Another monitor viewing that might set that to 9 or 7 say.
Now take an 'accurate' monitor that adjusts in values of 0.5, which sets a colour more accurately to 7.5. Another calibrated accurate monitor will set to 7.5, while an 'ordinary' monitor might set it to say 7 or 8. In either case your range of representations is likely to be closer to how you wanted it.

Yes, but it's questionable how good a monitor that would be and a 50" TV is probably can't do chroma 4:4:4
Re: Dell announces the UltraSharp 30 4K OLED monitor
You want to master an image as accurately as possible, because downstream you will be dealing with displays that introduce errors in different ways.

It's more that 55" is a bit awkward for your usual desktop monitor ;)

It's also got a horrible amount latency and will probably apply a lot of digital trickery to the images. TV's just don't usually make good monitors.
