First the shell and the train, and now this. I wonder what's next?
Re: Lian Li's Yacht PC-Y6 mini-ITX chassis was on show at CES
If they're demoing these at CES then I can't be the only one in the world that really likes them. If you're going to have your PC on a desk then why not have it look fun?
If it cost about £50 I would buy this.
Re: Lian Li's Yacht PC-Y6 mini-ITX chassis was on show at CES
The boat design looks nice in the picture but then it is missing pretty much all the cables it needs to run (no connections between motherboard and the gpu, sata or psu etc)
I very much doubt it will end up at £50 as the train went for around £200 iirc
Re: Lian Li's Yacht PC-Y6 mini-ITX chassis was on show at CES
Yeah, it won't be close to £50. Sadly the actual wiring required to use this will rather detract from it, but saying that it's pretty hideous anyway so nothing really lost.

If this floats, it would be pretty cool on top of an aquarium!

And it could watercool itself plus heat the tank at the same time!

Extra points if someone makes a PCIe compatible fish food dispenser...

I like to see this sort of creativity and precise craftsmanship (ayyy), but I have to agree, I would not choose to place this somewhere where I can see it.

It'll float about as much as a stone can hang self supported in the air. Unlike the Titanic it won't even need an iceberg to go down.

But given it doesn't, you could always drop it into the bottom of an aquarium filled with oil.
Still not for me.

I like to see difference in design, especially with the MITX form factor being so small to build around.
Maybe one day there'll be a beautiful, affordable MITX case.
Re: Lian Li's Yacht PC-Y6 mini-ITX chassis was on show at CES
Have to say I saw this a while ago (iirc via a hexite on twitter) and I actually quite like this one. It looks like a desk ornament straight out of an American '80s sitcom, and whilst it's pretty kitsch it's not completely tasteless. I'd rather have this than some of the horrific neon, angular "gaming" cases that are kicking around.
I still mourn the passing of the Antec Skeleton Mini, mind you, so I might not be your typical PC enthusiast ;)

Nah, some muppet is bound to have an old P4 Northwood setup and will end up boiling his fish! :p

This is Lian Li remember, it is not going to cost £50. If I remember right the train was £200-350 depending on if you wanted the version that "steamed" or not. I can't see this being any less than £200.

What an odd beast - I think I like it.
Perhaps I should start a seperate discussion for MITX cases outside of the norm, but I reckon you might like the Deepcool Tristellar.
Also, I'm assuming there's an image at the start of your post, but due to work's firewall I can't see it. I'm sure it's lovely.
