Hardly "game changing" new monitors from Acer when Dell is having a go at 4K Oled monitors and Philips offering 4K 40" monitor for half the price of Acer's curved panel I shall hardly be impressed with a type-C port or 27" 1440p or another Ultra Wide panel. Having opted for the 40" Philips not even two weeks ago I already can't imagine giving up all the real estate, not even for Ultra Wide. While I am sure there's market for both, I'd say "game changing" monitors are still at least a year away and probably won't be from Acer as they seem to be too busy milking the current and old tech.

How is a USB type-C only monitor supposed to work anyway, do Z170 motherboards support iGPU over a USB-C port? What about dedicated graphics, displayport-to-USB-C? I'm guessing you'd have to have it plugged in then as I doubt a GPU displayport can provide enough power for the monitor.

BRING BACK 16:10 please. So tired of WIDE crap. Do any of these vendors realize many of us spent a lot of time on the web (or reading anything on PC) and need more HEIGHT? Heck I like it for gaming too. Still clutching my dell 24 1920x1200 for as long as I can. The only place I like WIDE is doing excel sheets at work (tech support stuff). No need for 100's of WIDE monitor choices at home. I'd rather have 100's of 16:10's for choices at home/play. Scrolling all day to read pages sucks, especially with all the wasted space due to bars, tops of pages etc using most of the readable space already. I hope they have a few 2560x1600's when I finally make a move, or I guess I'll just put it off even longer if possible. Dell U3014 is the only monitor I have as an option at $1250 currently. I hope it gets some competition soon (with gsync or freesync). I'd call that a "game changing" monitor!

USB type C can carry native DisplayPort signals through an alternate mode, alongside power delivery of up to 5A at 5/12/20V - so up to 100W max.

As long as your motherboard fully supports Type C, it shouldn't be any different to a normal DisplayPort output as far as the iGPU is concerned.
